The size of Mars and Snickers chocolate bars has been shrunk by more than 7 per cent as the company tries to cut costs.
Mars UK claimed the switch to smaller sizes was designed to help tackle the nation's obesity crisis. However, the move was not advertised despite claims it was for a public health initiative. The reduced Mars contains just 19 fewer calories at 261, while the Snickers has 23 fewer at 296. Mars UK has now confirmed that the change was triggered by rising costs, according to the Daily Mail.
